Excavators

Excavator Financing

Excavators are among the most common machines contractors, utility crews and landscapers finance. This page covers mini and larger excavators, new versus used purchases and what to bring to a request.

We do not list model specifications or prices. The quote from your dealer or seller is what a lender reviews.

Excavators and related equipment

  • Mini and compact excavators
  • Mid-size and larger crawler excavators
  • Wheeled excavators
  • Buckets, thumbs, hammers and other attachments bought with the machine
  • Trailers used to haul the excavator

Whether attachments or trailers can be included is decided by the lender.

New and used considerations

  • New excavators usually come with a dealer quote listing the machine and any attachments.
  • Used excavators are reviewed on hours, condition, undercarriage wear and maintenance records.
  • A private or auction purchase may need extra documentation, and some lenders may not finance it.

Factors lenders review

Each lender weighs these differently. We do not publish credit-score cutoffs because none applies across lenders.

  • Credit profile and time in business
  • Revenue and how the machine supports your work
  • Machine size, age, hours and resale value
  • Down payment and requested term

Documents to prepare

None of these are needed to submit our request. A lender may ask for them later.

  • Equipment quote listing the excavator and any attachments
  • Serial number, hours and photos for a used machine
  • Recent business bank statements, if requested
  • Basic business details: legal name, state, time in business

How the application process works

  1. Submit a pre-qualification request

Tell us the equipment, the amount and a few business details. The form does not ask for your SSN, bank login or documents.

  2. Confirm details

A representative may contact you to confirm the request. A financing provider may then ask for documents such as a quote or bank statements.

  3. Review any options

If a provider can work with the request, you review what it offers. You are not obligated to accept.

  4. Complete the lender’s requirements

The lender or financing provider makes the credit decision and sets the terms. Ai Loan Brokerage LLC is a loan broker, not a direct lender.

Payment example (illustrative only)

$50,000 financed at an assumed fixed annual interest rate of 10% over 60 months gives approximately $1,062.35 per month under standard monthly amortization. Total payments are approximately $63,741; interest approximately $13,741.

Excludes fees, taxes and insurance. No down payment is included. This is not a quote, APR disclosure or approval offer. Your actual rate, term and payment are set by the lender.

Excavator Financing questions

Can attachments be included?
Attachments bought with the excavator can be listed on the same quote and described in your request. Whether a lender includes them depends on the lender and your qualifications.
Is a mini excavator financed differently from a larger one?
The process is the same. The amount, equipment value and term a lender considers may differ with machine size and condition.
Can I finance a used excavator?
Often, yes. Hours, condition and seller type affect whether a specific used excavator is accepted and on what terms.
