New equipment
Financing a new equipment purchase
New equipment purchases are usually the most straightforward requests because the asset details are documented by the dealer or manufacturer. Here is what to have ready.
What to have ready
- The dealer quote or buyer's order, including the total price.
- Year, make, model and configuration of the unit.
- Any attachments, options or accessories included in the purchase.
- Expected delivery or build-slot timing.
- The down payment you can contribute, if any.
- A short description of the work the equipment will do.
Why new purchases can move faster
A new unit comes with clean documentation: a manufacturer invoice, a serial number and a verifiable price. That removes most of the back-and-forth that used purchases can involve, such as confirming condition, hours or ownership.
That said, faster paperwork is not the same as approval. Eligibility, structure and terms are still determined by the financing provider after review of your business and the equipment.
Things worth deciding early
- How long you intend to keep the equipment, which affects term length.
- Whether you want ownership at the end or prefer to return the asset.
- Whether soft costs such as freight, installation or training need funding.
- Whether the purchase is time-sensitive because of a build slot or promotion.
